Summer Fun!

Hey everyone...wow...it's been a while!

The summer has started off! What's going on with you all???

Jill and I have been pretty busy. We've celebrated our first anniversary last month and also celebrated my niece's first birthday (the cute one on my desktop computer) last weekend. Now I am getting ready for MTN TOP and I'm excited about it!

What have you all been doing? I've seen some of you, but not all. Let me know what's been going on!

Peace to all of you.

Good Things.

So I saw a rainbow in the sky this morning driving to church. And I couldn't help but realize that the rainbow is still a sign even all these years after Noah ... We could call it an "icon" a door that opens and points us to God. And through the rainbow, God still speaks: good things for you and I. Good things today. Good things tomorros. Good things (even through the storm). Good things. God promises good things even through the storm and the rain. Good things. Posted by Picasa

Space

Eugene Peterson translates Psalm 27:1
(The Lord is my light and salvation)
*
Light. Space. Zest. That's my God.
*
And today I found myself remembering this as I was pondering my lack of "space" right now due to how busy and crazy this week is. And of course, once again, I am sure that no one else can relate to being over-busy, over-scheduled and over-everything :) . A friend once told me that busyness is actually the main opposition to the Christian Life.
*
Hmm. that's one to ponder this time of year: busyness the antithesis of the Christian Life. So perhaps "space" does have more to do with "salvation" than we would normally think. Perhaps busyness is just one more reason why we need a Savior.
*
Lord save us from our busyness.
Amen.

the miracles

Sometimes it's just the darnest of things that make you smile! And sometimes those darnest of things happen on the days that you need it the most. And sometimes it's those darnest of things that end up the little miracles that Jesus gives to us to hand out (like the fishes and the loaves) to make His world a better place. when life is too busy

So I decided that when it's been a week since I last blogged... someone's been too busy. that would be me.

And when you're too busy, that's when you start missing life ... you get too tired... you don't stop to smell the roses, whatever your roses happen to be. You forget what's important.

And sometimes you get so busy that you don't even realize what you're missing; what you're forgetting; sometimes you don't even realize how busy you are. That's why we need reminders to slow down (hah like the blog just did!). That's why we need to remind each other ...

so the next time it's been a week and nothing new on the blog ... please remind me slow down, you're too busy, take time for what's really important.

Cindy's Bloggin'

Dear Everyone,

Thank you so much for the tribute yesterday. It really meant a lot to me. I’m going to hang the poem (did you call it a tonka?) in the sunroom, since that’s everyone’s favorite room. I will miss seeing y’all on Sunday nights, but I’m sure we’ll find an event to have at my house. Like y’all said, it’s always open.

Y’all are funny and exasperating and smart and loud when you’re supposed to be quiet and quiet when you’re supposed to be loud. Which pretty well describes me too…Guess that’s why we get along so well.

God bless,

Cindy
